The existing e-commerce portal was exposed to a security breach which could lead to a huge revenue loss and brand tarnishing.

Security of customer data

The existing e-commerce portal wasn’t secure enough to safeguard customer data that demanded to follow PCI compliance standard.

Seamless end to end flow

Another critical challenge was to ensure that the entire process flow for any customer order was automated and the flow of order information was seamless.

Performance and scalability

The existing portal lacked scalable architecture which had an impact on performance and scalability.

Choosing the right support structure

Zeroing on the right configuration of infrastructure with optimal costs as per the client’s requirement.

Approach

The main objective of this project was to revamp the entire e-commerce portal that can be owned, managed, secured, and quality controlled by the client. e-Zest worked towards standardizing portal leveraging Magento and AWS capabilities with latest PCI DSS certification.

Solution

Overall e-commerce portal revamp

e-Zest revamped the entire portal for the client with a focus on improving user journey for client’s employees as well as its customers. All old data pertaining to the previous portal was also retained and made available for any legal/regulatory requirement in the future. This step was important for ensuring the scalability of the solution from a future upgrade point of view.

Security

With an increasing focus on security and fraud prevention, the new portal was entirely PCI compliant and allowed all popular payment methods for customers as opposed to the old portal which only supported cash on delivery.

Robust reporting

e-Zest built customized reporting sets along with out-of-the-box Magento reports ensuring the client has all essential data points for marketing and re-targeting purpose. This ensured that client could shift focus on acquiring more customers rather than dealing with the hassle of data crunching.

End result

The customers and their order details of the existing store were migrated in a seamless way to the new e-commerce portal. The project was delivered successfully with a 70% reduction in delivery time than proposed by other vendors.
